More than meets the eye.

Following the 1 April Putra Heights gas pipeline incident, our team at Geospatial AI initiated daily satellite monitoring of the area. Using our latest image from 9 April — with the highest visibility to date — we conducted a comparative analysis with pre-incident data from 31 March.

Our analysis revealed:
- An estimated 290-meter blast radius, consistent with the reported evacuation zone
- 50% reduction in green intensity within the blast radius — showing significant vegetation loss due to heat and combustion
- Affected areas include roadside greenery, urban tree clusters, and grasslands near residential zones

In line with our tagline, "𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗻," we use satellite imagery and environmental analytics to uncover what ground-level views may miss — and deliver timely insights when they’re needed most.

A Flood-Resilient Malaysia: How Satellite Technology Can Help

Flooding in Malaysia is becoming a bigger challenge, with damages hitting RM933.4 million in 2024 alone, as reported by Jabatan Perangkaan Malaysia (DOSM). Every year, we see communities struggling with submerged roads, damaged homes, and lost livelihoods. With extreme weather events on the rise, we need to rethink how we prepare and respond.

This is where satellite technology comes in. At Geospatial AI, we use satellite imagery; optical and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data to provide near real-time insights on flood risks and impacts.

Below is an analysis we conducted based on past satellite data, demonstrating how this technology helps identify affected areas. Imagine being able to see which roads are cut off, which paddy fields are underwater, and which plantations are affected—all in single capture. This means faster relief efforts, smarter rebuilding, and better planning for the future.

Satellite data doesn’t just help during a disaster, it plays a crucial role before and after the flood:
